SWORDHEART | T. Kingfisher

Rating: ★★★★★
TL;DR: Cozy fantasy that is delightful and easy to read.
Short summary: I picked this up on a whim at the bookstore because the cover was pretty and I love Kingfisher.
Man was that a great move.
I started and finished it today. It hooked me from the beginning and I wanted to do nothing but see how things ended up for Halla and Sarkis. What an incredibly beautiful and wonderfully written story.
What I loved:
Halla is a middle-aged, heavy set girl who doesn't need a man, thank you very much.
Sarkis doesn't belittle her, but is there when she needs him.
What I didn’t:
Nothing. This really was a fun ride.
Mood: One-Sitting Read, My Brain is Tired- Give Me Easy, Swoon-Worthy, Gentle + Heartwarming
Warnings:
There is some violence, death, murder, grief and self-harm. Nothing too gruesome or explicit.
Closed door romance - suggestive dialogue but no intimate scenes.
Who should read it: Someone who wants to just chill and follow some great characters around for a bit.
