TL;DR: I loved everything about this and you should read it RIGHT NOW.

Summary: What can I say about this novel? It made my heart soar and sore. It was one of the most beautiful reading experiences that I've ever had. I made it to the last quarter and had to take a break because I didn't want it to end, I wanted to stay in this world with these characters forever.

Harrow is not only a beautiful writer when it comes to atmosphere and characters, but her prose is thougthful and meaningful. There were many times throughout this novel where I underlined a passage wishing I had written it.

Aside from that, this novel is full of yearning... for life, for change, for another person. I felt it deep in my heart and am sure it's going to linger for some time.

Una and Owen are two of my favorite characters I've ever read. The devotion they have to each other and the growth and change they go through is one of the most impactful parts of this story.

I feel like I could write about this book forever... and I might. I'm going to sit with it some more, mull it over. I know my reveiw isn't doing it justice. It really is one of the most beautiful things I've ever read in my entire life. And I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that.

Thank you SO much to Wednesday Books and Macmillan publishing for the Physical Arc of this book. It was a dream to get and a dream to read and I apprecaite it more than you could possibly understand.

What I loved:

  • The characters. They are real and vibrant and moving.

  • The ending. Exactly what I wanted for these characters.

What I didn’t:

  • LITERALLY NOTHING

Mood: Curl Up With Tea, Bittersweet + Beautiful, Slow + Lush, Autumn Cozy Read

Warnings:

Violence, Murder, Death, Death of Children (But also not?? Mentioned but not explicit)

Who should read it: Lovers of Lady Knights, People who want *yearning*, Adventure lovers and YOU.
